Pay Rate Range: $40.00 – $43.00 Hourly (non-Exempt)

Position Overview

We are urgently seeking a Designer (Level 2) for a contingent non-employee opportunity supporting Space Systems in Cape Canaveral, FL. In this role, you will work closely with MGSE engineers to provide components and portions of system designs—including handling, lifting, test, assembly, and transportation of mechanical and electrical components.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Use CREO to develop plans, drawings, and models, and to revise/initiate formats for parts, assemblies, and installation engineering.

• Create new parts, drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), assemblies, simplified reps, and shrinkwraps.

• Support team members with design knowledge and complete layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices (ASME Y14.5).

• Prepare complete production detail drawings.

• Complete design modifications to improve product quality or facilitate manufacturing operations.

• Handle engineering documentation and maintain/verify drawing/Computer Aided Design (CAD) data.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience Level: Level 2 (Bachelor’s Degree with 3–5 years of experience, or Master’s Degree with 0–3 years of experience).

• Design Tools: Proficiency in CREO and CAD maintenance.

• Drafting Standards: Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 drafting standards.

• Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is strictly required.

• Access Requirement: Role requires access to ECI information.

• Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a security clearance.
