Description:
An apparel retailer is looking for a Assistant Designer to support the development and execution of seasonal apparel collections with a primary focus on Girls Wovens. In this role, you will research and identify trend directions relevant to the customer, analyze competitive and aspirational brands, and shop the market regularly to stay up to date on current trends. You will create and maintain digital concept/mood boards, support the design team in developing seasonal collections, create and update flat technical sketches through Illustrator, execute organized technical packages through PLM, and work closely with the CAD team on print and pattern development. You will also prepare development decks, linesheets, and presentation materials, assist in approving strike-offs and lab-dips, and support day-to-day responsibilities.

Requirements for the role:
1 2 years of experience in apparel design
Strong Illustrator sketching skills
Proficiency in CAD, Photoshop, and Illustrator
Ability to create and maintain digital concept/mood boards
Experience creating and updating flat technical sketches through Illustrator
Experience executing organized, accurate technical packages through PLM
Ability to work closely with CAD team on print and pattern development
Experience preparing development decks, linesheets, and presentation materials
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to be flexible, multi-task, and shift priorities
Ability to assist in approving strike-offs, lab-dips, and other development materials
Portfolio required
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field (preferred)
1 2 years of relevant apparel design experience
Or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
