Design – Luxury Custom Home Builder

A premier custom home builder is seeking a Designer to lead its residential design team and oversee the design process for high-end custom homes and major renovations. This is a key leadership opportunity for an experienced designer who can balance creativity, technical expertise, client relationships, and team development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the design team while overseeing multiple active projects
• Manage the design process from initial concepts through construction documentation
• Develop high-end residential designs, renderings, selections, and presentations
• Collaborate closely with homeowners, builders, architects, and trade partners
• Ensure designs are both visually compelling and practical to construct
• Provide expertise in cabinetry, millwork, finish carpentry, and construction sequencing
• Participate in client meetings and provide a consultative design experience
• Visit active job sites as needed to support project execution

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of high-end residential design, custom homes, or major renovations
• 2+ years leading, managing, or mentoring designers
• Advanced proficiency in Chief Architect, including renderings and design documentation
• Working knowledge of BuilderTrend or similar construction management software
• Strong understanding of cabinetry, millwork, finish carpentry, and construction sequencing
• Portfolio demonstrating high-end residential work and technical documentation
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail
