Job Title: Design Technician
Location: Lafayette, CO (Onsite 4 days/week)
Duration: 12 Months | Hours: 40 hours/week
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, engineering, or product development.
Strong CAD modeling and engineering drawing skills, including GD&T.
Hands-on experience building fixtures, conducting mechanical inspections/testing, troubleshooting issues, and documenting results.
Ability to interpret and communicate technical design changes across cross-functional teams.
Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and the impact of design changes on manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and modify component/product designs using CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA, Creo/Pro-E, or similar.
Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, sketches, and design proposals.
Build test fixtures, perform mechanical testing and troubleshooting, analyze data, and prepare reports.
Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, and materials teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing and product requirements.
Independently resolve technical issues, recommend design/process improvements, and support the Navigation product portfolio.
