As a full-time Design Services Manager at Aalberts IPSA, located in Charlotte, NC, you will support clients to design IPSA brand products and services that meet their desired need. This role plays a key part in supporting clients growing needs leveraging innovation and creativity.

your challenge
o Prepare piping layout drawings, isometric drawings, spool sheet drawings/cut sheets with complete BOM’s (bill-of-materials), pad and equipment drawings from customer furnished drawings and vendor data in Auto Plant (or other) design modelling software as required.
o Perform checking functions of drawings and bill of materials (plans & sections, isometrics, spool sheets, B.O.M.'s) produced both in-house and by the design team at Apollo.
o Conduct project review, kick-off meetings, maintain customer contact, and other job control functions.
o Coordinate complete project material handling from manufacturing to installation (i.e. bagging & tagging / expediting, fabrication of combination Apollo and welded spools, field logistics, etc.)
o Prepare and coordinate complete BEP (Basic Engineering Package), adhering to established guidelines, for transferring project to Apollo design team.
o Prepare Advanced Bill of Materials and assist the customer service department regarding their content and/or changes to material delivery requirements.
o Assist sales and with presentation of APDS drawing quotes (as required).
o Assist APDS estimating, specification, and software development departments (as required).
o Travel to jobsites to obtain accurate field measurements and interact with customers and Apollo salespeople as required.
o Assist in the training of draftspersons, draftsperson trainees, and interns.
o Complete additional duties as assigned by your manager.
requirements
o Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
o Ability to interface with all levels of management within the company and clients.
o Experience with Microsoft Office suite, AutoCAD, and (BIM) Building Information Modelling.
o Be able to travel domestically and internationally.
o Must have project management skills (i.e. scheduling, budgeting, expediting, material coordination, information organization, customer interface, preparation of drawing issues to customer, etc.)
o Knowledge of piping specification engineering and pipe support experience.
o Knowledge of Isogen, Spoolgen, Plantspace, PDS, and PDMS AutoPlant 2D & 3D software.
o English language proficiency of at least B1 level where clear communication and basic problem-solving skills are essential.
