Design Release Engineer

Introduction

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to support the design validation and release process for components and systems such as chassis, powertrain, and electrical. This role focuses on risk analysis, design compliance, and supplier coordination to ensure components meet engineering and quality standards from concept through production release. The scope includes supporting front and rear closures geometry and engineering execution, developing 3D geometry and design concepts to meet crash load case requirements, optimizing designs, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and delivering fit/finish craftsmanship.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered)

• Experience with PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
• Ability to work collaboratively with Studio and Design teams
• Proficiency in CAD software (NX or CATIA)
• Familiarity with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
• Ability to take measurements in CAD
• Prior work experience in the client’s industry
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2

Preferred Skills & Qualifications (Nice-to-have skills but are not required)

• Proficiency in 3D Modeling
• Experience with Design Rules Compliance
• Experience compiling design verification evidence packages

Day-to-Day Responsibilities (key tasks and expectations for the role)

• Lead and facilitate DFMEA sessions with cross-functional teams
• Review component and system designs against corporate/engineering Design Rules
• Compile, organize, and maintain design verification evidence packages
• Author Supplier Corrective Action Forms (SCAFs)
• Serve as a technical point of contact with suppliers
• Use basic CAD skills to review models/drawings and verify design intent
• Support cross-functional design reviews and gate milestones
