Introduction
We are seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Design and Release Engineer, specializing in underbody structure design and release. This role involves the application of sheet metal (steel and aluminum) structure component design and release, focusing on delivering body structure components and subsystems from start to finish, and following through production as ongoing product development (PPD).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in APQP for new source supplier parts feasibility confirmation, stamping, and assembly feasibility.
- Experience with AVBOM, particularly in maintaining FedeBOM for responsible components.
- Capability in Acceptance Testing to ensure parts meet requirements.
- Strong analytical skills for engineering calculations and collaboration with CAE groups.
- Experience in Change Management and Change Control, including presenting changes and leading discussions in Change Control meetings.
- Experience as a Design Release Engineer, managing the design and maintenance of structure components.
- Prior work experience in the client's industry.
- Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Ford system (Design and Release) process.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design and release of underbody structure components such as front structure, dash cowl, floor panels, and reinforcements.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure feasibility of parts and assemblies.
- Maintain up-to-date records in FedeBOM for components under responsibility.
- Conduct and oversee acceptance testing of parts to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Manage part changes using Ford systems like Fede and WERS, and lead discussions in Change Control meetings.
