Description

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

·        Lead the research and analysis of data such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.

·        Oversee the design of products or systems including controls, robots, machines, and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems.

·        Ensure the design of products and systems to interface machines, hardware, and software.

·        Ensure projects achieve company targets for Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Safety.

·        Participate in and support 5S, QS, kaizen, and lean manufacturing activities.

·        Take responsibility for the overall direction and output of designated projects.

·        Maintain a strong understanding of HIROTEC America database and ISO requirements.

·        Follow up on communications to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.

·        Provide guidance and structure for changes, new directions, new processes, and new product introductions.

·        Communicate with appropriate individuals and groups as necessary (e.g., customer service, department supervisors, employees, purchasing, CAD/engineering, management).

·        Review financial status of projects with upper management.

·        Work with assigned manpower to control project expenditures within the scope of work.

·        Report QDCS (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Safety) for each project as required.

·        Proactively assess project quality and take appropriate corrective measures.

·        Ensure employee adherence to company policies and procedures (e.g., security, housekeeping, use of current and new equipment).

·        Ensure employee adherence to company safety regulations.

·        Recommend improvements to increase man and machine efficiencies and product quality.

·        Maintain strong customer interface and satisfaction.

·        Understand mechanical and controls design to process intent; improve processes and margins.

·        Negotiate engineering changes.

·        Be available for emergency contact on weeknights and weekends if assigned a company cell phone.

·        Responsible for oversight of multiple design sources to complete all tasks.

·        Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
