About the Role

TeraWulf is building large-scale AI/HPC data centers, and the Design Project Manager is the Owner's representative shepherding engineered designs from master planning through IFC documents and into tenant turnover. You'll be the connective tissue between our internal teams, our design consultants, and the construction trades - making sure what gets drawn is buildable, code-compliant, and cost-effective across multiple concurrent new builds.

This role is well suited to an MEP or electrical engineer who has spent meaningful time on jobsites and is comfortable interfacing daily with contractors, engineers, vendors and manufacturers, and Owner and Tenant personnel.

Core Functions

  • Drive and manage the development of AI/HPC data center designs from master planning through Issued-for-Construction (IFC) and tenant turnover.
  • Coordinate day-to-day across all project stakeholders - tenant, TeraWulf internal teams, design consultants and engineers of record, GC and trades, commissioning agents, and vendors - keeping decisions, RFIs, and approvals moving.
  • Own the relationship with design consultants engaged by TeraWulf to produce engineered design documents for new builds, fit-outs, and retrofits.
  • Establish and enforce design quality control and document control procedures throughout all stages of construction.
  • Audit engineering deliverables for constructability, safety, code adherence, technical accuracy, and completeness; drive issues to resolution with urgency.
  • Lead value engineering efforts to manage construction cost without compromising design intent or reliability.
  • Lead Construction-to-Operations handoff efforts, including regular updates to the project Master Equipment List.
  • Attend design reviews at the 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC milestones; participate in punch list walks and other onsite design events.
  • Routinely visit jobsites for onsite validation, inspection, and design familiarity.

Core Competencies

  • Working knowledge of engineering and construction design principles, with applied familiarity with NEC, NFPA, IBC, OSHA, and ASHRAE standards relevant to data center work.
  • Strong technical foundation in MEP systems - particularly medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution, mechanical cooling (air and liquid), fire protection and fire alarm, and telecommunications.
  • Detail- and process-oriented, with the discipline to drive document control and design QA/QC at scale.
  • Clear written and verbal communicator who can translate between engineers, contractors, vendors, and tenants.
  • Comfortable leading and resolving competing priorities across multiple concurrent projects in a fast-moving environment.
  • Proficient in standard construction software such as Bluebeam, Procore (or equivalent), and AutoCAD/Revit (read-level fluency), along with MS Office and Google Workspace.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • 5-8 years of progressive experience, with a meaningful portion in MEP or electrical design and a recent track record of project management.
  • Direct experience on data center, mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale commercial projects strongly preferred.
  • PE license a plus but not required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% and to be onsite at Lake Mariner or other project locations during key design and construction milestones.

Key Deliverables

  • Design Change Log - maintained current, with cost and schedule impacts captured for each change.
  • Design milestone review packages (30/60/90/IFC) with consolidated comments and dispositions.
  • Master Equipment List.
  • RFI and submittal logs reflecting design-side responses and turnaround times.
  • Quality control reports from site walks, including punch list generation and closure.
