We are looking for a highly skilled Design Manager with a background in electrical engineering who is passionate about our mission to join our Bay Area infrastructure engineering team with focus on cell manufacturing and R&D improvements. In this role, you will be asked to own and drive the full design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure development from concept to build. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, construction and project management. The role requires a highly organized mindset, a passion for driving multi-disciplinary projects, and an unparalleled ability to pull people together to make things happen. This role requires you to be extremely detail oriented, identify real hard barriers and drive the cross-functional teams to execute quickly at high quality. You will drive collaboration between Engineering disciplines, Construction, Manufacturing, R&D, EHS and operations to ensure our team's goals are aligned with company priorities. We are a demanding and fast-paced environment, so being self‐motivated and disciplined is critical.
Organize and manage design reviews, construction design packages and deliverables to support all aspects of designand construction: including scope of work, kick-off, MDR, 30%, 60%, 90%, IFP, IFC, construction administration, close out
Define strategies for design and engineering deliverables including construction and permit packages
Own the full design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure development from concept to delivery to meet our aggressive goals
Manage permitting and construction documents including transmittals, submittals and RFI's
Manage customer requests and do what it takes to execute a successful project that meets schedule, cost, and scope expectations
Own project funding request process in collaboration with construction team
Coordinate project schedule with construction team based on Procurement and Construction requirements for the overall schedule success of the project
Fundamentally understand stakeholder's requirements and translate them into project deliverables
Distill, document, and manage scope effectively to support highly dynamic environment
Manage all aspects of technical planning, scope development, change management, programming, design, and engineering services during design and construction
Degree in Electrical Engineering field, or equivalent experience
3-5 years of professional experience in relevant industry
Deep understanding of all engineering disciplines with proven ability to manage engineering resources
Demonstrated track record delivering IFB, IFP, and IFC packages
Experience designing and managing multi-disciplinary teams on complex manufacturing facilities, semiconductor facilities, industrial, R&D facilities, and site infrastructure projects
Experience working with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and managing subcontractors / third-party consultants
Strong project and program management skills applied to complex engineering problems, with ability to execute multiple projects in parallel
Excellent communication and documentation skills-able to distill complex issues into clear plans and effectively engage technical and non-technical stakeholders

$108,000 - $210,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
