Description

Location: Greenville, SC
Work Mode: Onsite
Shift: 1st Shift hours: 8-5 Flexible, M-F

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Global Supply Chain (GSC) and collaborate cross-functionally to continuously drive improvements and disposition hardware non-conformances while maintaining optimal quality for our customers.
  • Support Design for producibility, lean flow, and concurrent engineering.
  • Support hardware qualifications for new processes, process changes, and new equipment.
  • Apply knowledge of HGP design and manufacturing to implement new ideas that enhance overall function of part, reduce cost, and add value.
  • Participate in Supply Chain Kaizens & Lean Action Workouts for proactive quality engagement in defect reduction and process improvements.
  • Support qualification guidelines, specifications, and top manufacturing issues.
  • Contribute to technology development and qualification of special processes such as castings, coating, and hole drilling.
  • Cultivate teamwork, a positive working environment, and morale; drive a sense of urgency and quality with speed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Gas Turbine engineering experience, specifically Hot Section components.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing methods and statistical process control.
  • Background in HGP components, including NX, GD&T, ANSYS Classic.
  • Ability to build trust with team members and interfacing organizations.
  • Experience and familiarity with advanced manufacturing processes.
  • Customer satisfaction mindset with strong quality orientation.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and willingness to challenge the status quo and deliver the best company products.
  • Relevant mechanical engineering experience designing gas turbine hardware or similar rotating machinery, specifically hot gas path components.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, methods, materials, and coatings.
  • Previous non-conformance dispositioning experience of deviating hardware by applying mechanical engineering assessments.
  • Familiarity with FEA, Solid Modeling, Python, and other analytical tools.
  • Understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional global organization.
  • Humble, open-minded, self-motivated, and a continuous learner.
  • Ability to rapidly shift day-to-day priorities based on emerging business needs.
  • Experience with ANSYS Classic and Python coding.
  • Strong mechanical background and understanding of stresses and failure modes (Low Cycle Fatigue, Creep, Oxidation).
