Standard Job Description

Directs and coordinates engineering projects, including planning, organization, control, integration, and completion within assigned responsibility.

Manages recruiting, training, performance, assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Develops or improves products, ensures contract/specification and cost requirements are met, and coordinates with affected organizations.

Provides hands-on leadership for 3D, illustration, and video projects while maintaining contractual obligations and team processes.

Plans multimedia projects, assigns staff by phase, and coordinates technical development, schedules, and design/test issue resolution.

Specific Job

Lockheed Martin seeks an experienced professional to lead Emergent Visualization content creation within the EBDT CIO organization in Orlando, FL.

Activities include:

• 3D model design and development
• Dodification of CAD models
• Line and rendered illustrations
• Static and interactive animations
• User interface design
• Asset/texture development and real-time integration
• Scripted software for client and web applications supporting 3D simulation and AR/VR

Responsibilities

• Leadership & People Management

• Recruit, interview, select, and onboard Design Engineers.

• Conduct performance reviews, career development planning, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

• Manage timesheets, work assignments, and skill matrix tracking.

• Project Delivery

• Define scope, schedule, and budget for 3D AR/VR content.

• Allocate resources across concept, modeling, texture, animation, and UI.

• Ensure deliverables meet contractual specifications and EBDT quality gates.

• Cross-Functional Coordination

• Partner with Emergent Visualization Software Engineering to align assets and engine pipelines.

• Liaise with customers on estimates, change orders, and status.

• Translate policy and procedure updates into team SOPs.

• Technical Supervision

• Direct creation and maintenance of 3D models, textures, shaders, rigging, and rendered assets.

• Supervise Unity/Unreal integration, verify performance, and resolve issues.

• Generate status dashboards and KPI reports for ILS.

• Process & Quality Governance

• Enforce Agile/JIRA workflow, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.

• Conduct peer reviews, asset validation checks, and release signoffs.

• Recommend improvements to EBDT engineering processes and documentation standards.

Basic Qualifications

• Security Clearance - Eligible for Secret (must obtain).
• Education - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• Has the capability to understand technical concepts involving Unity (or other real-time engine), and Media integration into real-time environments.
• Has the capability to understand technical concepts involving development of modeling, texturing, shading, lighting and rigging of 3D content for rendered illustrations and real-time applications.
• Has the capability to understand applicability of Design Engineer software development tools such as Autodesk Maya, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere), Substance Painter & Designer, Unity, Unreal, Redshift, PiXYZ, or other similar products.
• Leadership - Proven ability to manage engineers, conduct performance cycles, and influence senior leadership.
• Collaboration - Significant experience working with software engineers on asset integration in game engines.
• Process Tools - Expertise with JIRA, Agile/Scrum workflow.

Desired Skills

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in 3D Design, Interactive Media, Game Development, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or related discipline.
• Significant experience collaborating with a team of Software Engineers and/or Interactive Media developers and artists to integrate Media assets into real-time environments developed in game engines such as Unity
• Ability to devise innovative solutions for scoped technical problems. Strong written and verbal communication; able to present technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders. Self starter with proven multitask management; detail oriented; adept at creating status & tracking reports.

Pay Information

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.

• Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $131100.00 - $243500.00

• Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.

• Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $118000.00 - $219100.00

• Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.

• Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $104900.00 - $194700.00

• Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas-Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.

• Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): $94400.00 - $175200.00

• Includes metropolitan areas such as Camden, AR; Lexington, KY; Lufkin, TX; etc.
