Design Engineer

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Little Rock, AR area. Our client is seeking a Design Engineer to design steel structures, connections, and systems.

Position Responsibilities:

- Design and analyze steel members, connections, and structural systems

- Prepare calculations, drawings, and design documents

- Coordinate with detailing, estimating, and project teams

- Review shop drawings for design intent

- Support RFIs and design changes

Position Essential Job Functions:

- Perform structural analysis using design software

- Apply AISC, IBC, and related codes

- Develop connection designs and details

- Support estimating with design input

- Maintain engineering documentation

Position Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering

- 2+ years of structural steel or metal building design experience

- EIT required; PE preferred

- Experience with RISA, STAAD, MBS, or similar software

- Strong knowledge of AISC design standards
