Metso is a global leader in sustainable technologies, end-to-end solutions, and services for the aggregates, minerals processing, and metals refining industries. We are currently looking for a Design Engineer to join our Screening Business Line in Mannheim, Germany.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design, technical support, and continuous improvement of screening equipment and related products. You will collaborate closely with sales, manufacturing, suppliers, and global engineering teams while supporting projects from quotation through final acceptance.
Key Responsibilities
Design and configure products to meet customer-specific requirements
Create and maintain technical documentation, including:
engineering calculations
drawings
bills of materials (BOMs)
technical specifications
data sheets
CE and safety documentation
Provide technical support to the sales organization during quotation and proposal preparation
Support manufacturing teams and external partners with engineering-related issues
Participate in machine testing and final acceptance activities
Support field equipment inquiries, troubleshooting, warranty cases, and product optimization initiatives
Ensure accurate and complete documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Work closely with regional and global engineering teams to align processes and technical standards
Contribute to continuous improvement and engineering best practices within the Screening Business Line
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline
Professional experience in engineering design or product engineering
Project engineering experience is considered an advantage
Experience within machinery, equipment, or industrial manufacturing environments
Ability to create and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation
Experience with Autodesk Inventor is a plus
Professional proficiency in English
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Structured and self-driven working style
Excellent communication and teamwork skills in an international environment
