Salary Range: $30.00–$43.50/hr

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Design Engineer – Distribution to support utility engineering and project execution in a remote environment. This is an entry-level engineering opportunity working under the guidance of senior engineering staff, with responsibilities involving CAD drafting, markup reviews, technical development, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary design reviews and markup evaluations.
- Address basic CAD markups and redlines while following established procedures and standards.
- Mentor and support entry-level drafters and engineers.
- Develop an understanding of civil engineering terminology, construction methods, materials, and utility design practices.
- Work within established project scopes, schedules, deadlines, and allowable hours.
- Understand utility locates, safety concerns, and required PPE.
- Collaborate with Project Engineers and Discipline Managers while working independently in a remote environment.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering field from an ABET-accredited university required.
- No prior professional engineering experience required.
- Basic CAD knowledge with the ability to complete simple markups and redlines.
- Understanding of project scope, schedules, deadlines, and utility locates.
- Strong communication skills, work ethic, and attention to instructions.
- Self-motivated, receptive to feedback, and eager to continue developing technically.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment.
