Alternate Work Schedule:
These positions are assigned an alternate work schedule based on the operational needs of the Special Events Program. The normal workweek is 40 hours; however, because special events routinely occur after normal business hours, at night, on weekends, and on holidays, employees assigned to these positions are subject to flex time and alternate work hours.
The three positions will operate on staggered schedules to provide seven-day-a-week coverage, while generally providing each employee two scheduled days off per week.
Schedules may be adjusted based on event schedules, staffing requirements, and operational needs.
Normal duty hours are 0800-1600, but employees may flex their start and end times when assigned to evening or late-night events, as directed by supervisors.
After-hours, weekend, and holiday assignments are considered a normal and expected function of these positions and may occasionally occur.
Example Staggered Schedule:
Position: Special Events Position 1 & 2
Regular Workdays: Tuesday-Saturday
Regular Days Off: Sunday-Monday
Normal Hours: 0800-1600
Position: Special Events Position 3
Regular Workdays: Thursday-Monday
Regular Days Off: Tuesday-Wednesday
Normal Hours: 0800-1600
This staggered schedule ensures that at least one Special Events employee is regularly scheduled every day of the week, with overlapping staffing during higher-demand periods. Supervisors may modify individual schedules, start/end times, or days off to accommodate scheduled events, evening or late-night operations, holidays, major events, or other operational requirements while maintaining the established workweek.
