About the Agency

The Mississippi Public Service Commission supervises and regulates certain communication companies, electric, gas, water, and sewer utilities. It is the Commissions responsibility to see that rates and charges for services are just and reasonable, that approved rates are adhered to, that utility service is reasonably adequate, and that facilities constructed or acquired by utilities are required to serve the public. About the Position

This is a non-state service position (x-16). This position serves as the Chief of Staff for the Public Service Commissions Central district. This position will supervise the employees of the district. This position will be accountable for the districts time management and finances. This position will oversee meetings with the public, other government agencies, and the utility companies

What youll need to be Successful

Excellent verbal and written skills, the ability to travel, the ability to verify and implement applicable state laws, policies, and procedures

Paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave

Full-time employees receive paid time off for personal needs and for sick leave. Leave begins accruing after one month of employment and may be used as it is accrued. Employees earn approximately 18 days of personal leave annually and 12 days of sick leave annually.

In accordance with federal law, all employees serving in the armed forces or the military reserves are entitled to 15 days per year for military training.
