POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for performing maintenance on existing accounts, processing exception items through online decision support, and resolving issues related to client deposits and returns.

ESSENTIAL RESPONIBILITIES

  • Reviews and processes Positive Pay items; makes decisions and communicates with clients.
  • Prepares daily Check and ACH Return files.
  • Creates and approves Bank Transaction Entries (BTEs).
  • Makes online decisions to pay or return items.
  • Ensures transactions are accurately coded.
  • Manages overdrawn accounts, including posting or returning checks and fees.
  • Performs account maintenance related to Overdraft Privilege, charge-offs, and closure/purging of compromised accounts.
  • Completes INSIGHT service requests in a timely manner.
  • Handles general account maintenance requests.
  • Processes AVS/SSA and confirmation requests for account information.
  • Reviews and monitors daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Manages filing, correspondence, and other clerical duties.
  • Ensures work complies with state and federal regulations, company policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Represents the bank professionally in all interactions-face-to-face, written, and by phone.
  • Adheres to compliance standards, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), documentation quality, timeliness, and support of back-office processes.
  • Verifies report accuracy from previous day's input.
  • Collaborates with branches to resolve account issues.
  • Provides positive client experience.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement of the position.
  • Responsible for the completion of all required compliance training.
  • Must understand all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and comply with the requirements.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • Minimum six (6) months of experience in financial services, banking customer service, administration, or clerical work (preferred).
  • Knowledge of banking industry standards related to Deposit Operations (preferred).
  • Basic understanding of bank operations, products, services, and systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Understanding of debit and credit processing.
  • Knowledge of Regulation CC and appropriate hold policies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  • Maintains confidentiality of customer and account information.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Team-oriented mindset and positive attitude.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma/GED required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Minimal or occasional travel for meetings, projects or training.
