Description

The Deployment Specialist supports portable generator operations that help keep cellular networks running during power outages, Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events, wildfires, storms, and other emergencies throughout California.

Key responsibilities include driving and towing generators to cell sites, deploying and retrieving equipment, refueling generators, performing inspections, completing basic preventive maintenance, and maintaining accurate records. When not assigned to emergency response work, the role supports yard operations, equipment staging, inventory movement, generator readiness, and scheduled refueling activities.

This position requires safe driving and towing, the ability to work independently in the field, and availability for emergency call-outs that may involve nights, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and occasional overnight travel.

Important: This is not a Generator Technician position. The Deployment Specialist performs logistics, inspections, basic maintenance, and limited troubleshooting within established training and procedures. Complex diagnostics, repairs, and electrical or mechanical troubleshooting must be referred to authorized Generator Technicians.
