Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Deployed Network Support Specialist to support a company focused on expeditionary communications and network operations within the defense sector. This position is on-site in Carderock, MD. The Deployed Network Support Specialist will provide hands-on network and systems support to deployed units during planning, execution, and post-deployment phases. This role directly supports mission-critical operations by ensuring secure, reliable connectivity for forward-deployed personnel in dynamic operational environments.
Responsibilities for the Deployed Network Support Specialist include:
- Providing network engineering and technical guidance during deployment planning and execution phases
- Installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting routers, firewalls, IDS/IPS, DNS, Active Directory, and Exchange environments
- Delivering direct computer and network support to deployed units, including rapid resolution of operational issues
- Supporting Information Assurance (IA) training initiatives and assisting with the D-30 deployment process
- Coordinating logistics for deployment hardware and software, including transportation, import permits, foreign clearances, and post-deployment documentation
Required Qualifications for the Deployed Network Support Specialist include:
- 4+ years of experience providing network or systems support in deployed or operational environments
- Experience with enterprise networking technologies including routers, firewalls, IDS/IPS, DNS, Active Directory, and Exchange
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to operate effectively in high-tempo, mission-critical settings
- IATII certification & willingness to get CCNA
- Active Secret Security Clearance
