We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Specialists in Ft. Madison, IA.
Under limited supervision and in a fast-paced business, this position performs a variety of activities in support of Cryotech's business partners throughout North America.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Manages and coordinates freight movements throughout the United States/North America, including Alaska and Canada.
- Coordinates, tracks, and provides follow-through on all forms of shipments to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency.
- Performs financial and cost-benefit analysis on freight options to determine best total cost solutions while maintaining service and delivery requirements.
- Monitors freight spend, carrier performance, and lane utilization to spot issues, recommend changes, and support supply chain improvements.
- Evaluates new and existing freight partners to determine if they meet organizational needs for cost, service, reliability, and compliance.
- Works with other areas of the Cryotech organization to provide accurate cost and logistics information for competitive quoting and pricing decisions.
- Coordinates, tracks, and may report on the progress of unit work assignments and/or projects.
- Maintains and updates a variety of confidential and sensitive electronic and/or hard copy reports and records.
- Responds to routine verbal and written requests for information from internal sources.
- Prepares requested electronic and hard copy reports, analyses, and presentations for management review and decision making.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.

- Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and four or more years experience in a field related to the specialized functional area or unit where assigned.
- Must have an understanding of logistics management concepts and principles, with demonstrated experience applying them in day-to-day work.
- Ability to develop and clearly communicate new concepts, and to apply them effectively in a changing environment.
- Ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases and provide solutions to a range of logistics issues, including supply chain activities.
- Strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- May lead a team of professional employees on assigned aspects of projects.
- Ability to work extended hours, travel and participate in an on-call rotation as required.
