Department of Transportation and Public Works Permits Supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree. Three years of land surveying or civil engineering drafting experience is required. Must obtain Miami-Dade County General Engineering licensing or State of Florida General Contractors license within the probationary period. Additional related work experience may substitute for the required education on a year for year basis. Must be able to read, interpret plans and specifications and compose correspondence.

This is a technical and administrative supervisory position in the examination of engineering plans related to public works construction, utilities, oversized/overweight vehicles and blasting permits. Supervising subordinates engaged in routing and reviewing engineering plans submitted for work within the public right-of-way. Ensuring all construction, excavation, alterations, repair, installation, and relocation of public works facilities conform to existing standards and specifications.
