The Center for Disabilities is seeking applicants for a department assistant to support the Center for Disabilities and its diverse portfolio of work.
Duties include:
Provide administrative support to staff, including directors, researchers, and program coordinators.
Manage departmental correspondence, including emails, phone calls, and mail distribution.
Assist in scheduling meetings, appointments, and conference calls for staff members.
Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, materials, and minutes as needed.
Maintain and update departmental databases, records, and filing systems.
Assist with the organization and coordination of departmental events, workshops, and training sessions.
Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as needed.
Assist with the preparation and processing of departmental budgets and financial documents.
Coordinate travel arrangements and accommodations for staff attending conferences or events.
Serve as a liaison between staff and other departments, external partners, and community organizations.
Research and gather information as assigned by department leadership.
Perform other administrative tasks as assigned to support the overall functioning of the Center.
Preferred Qualifications:
Funding for this position is secured through grants. Continuation within the position is contingent on performance and funding availability.
This position offers state health insurance and benefits, which includes a retirement plan with 6% matching, 10 hours of annual leave each month, 9.34 hours of sick leave each month, and 11 paid holidays. Employees also have access to internal and state-sponsored training as well as reduced tuition for state-supported courses at all State of South Dakota academic institutions.
