Position Summary
University Medical Center is seeking a compassionate, skilled Dentist to join our Infectious Disease Dental Services team. This full-time role focuses on providing comprehensive dental care to patients with infectious diseases, including individuals living with HIV. The ideal candidate is clinically proficient, patient-centered, and committed to delivering high-quality care in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Examine, diagnose, and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums
Provide comprehensive dental care, including:
Routine cleanings and preventive services
Extractions, root canals, and fillings
Bite corrections and treatment of overcrowding
Surgical and non-surgical dental procedures
Develop and implement individualized oral health treatment plans
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
Prescribe medications for dental conditions, including pain management and antibiotics
Order and interpret diagnostic tools such as X-rays and dental models
Utilize dental instruments (drills, probes, mirrors, brushes) to diagnose and treat oral conditions
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans and prescriptions
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care
Direct and support dental assistants to ensure efficient, high-quality patient services
