    Description

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)

    • Provide preventative, complex, and comprehensive dental care services
    • Examine patients, diagnose their dental/oral conditions, prescribe and/or carry out appropriate treatments
    • Record patient-dentist transactions in the patient's dental records
    • Complete referrals, data collection instruments, and other records or paper work
    • Ability to refer patients for specialty consultation or treatment if needed
    • Educate patients in oral health related conditions and prevention
    • Must be able to listen to concerns and suggestions and provide follow-up and feedback in a timely manner
    • Ability to calm nervous patients
    • Ability to respond effectively to patients of all ages
    • Train and evaluate assigned staff remain calm and professional under pressure
    • Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and resolve problems
    • Potential for mucous membrane or skin contact exposure to blood, fluids, or tissue. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), when appropriate, is required
    • Exposure to hazards or physical risks (i.e., Blood, Sharps, Needles), which requires following basic safety precautions
    • Will work with blood or blood-borne pathogens and will require knowledge and understanding of OSHA protocols
    • Maintain standards of confidentiality of CC Idaho clients and records
    • PHI (Protected Health Information) Compliance
    • Perform all work duties and activities in compliance with CC Idaho, Joint Commission, OSHA and HIPAA regulations

    Qualifications

    Required

    • DDS or equivalent from an accredited dental school
    • Unrestricted dental license (D.D.S or D.M.D) to practice dentistry in the state of Idaho
    • Ability to read, speak, and write in both English/Spanish in a business setting
    • DEA registration
    • Current CPR/1st Aid
    • Successful clearance of general and DHS background checks

    Preferred

    • Knowledge of public health principles and practices
    • Completion of an accredited general practice residency program
    • Two years of professional dentistry experience and/or training

    Required Physical Demands

    • Is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; reach with hands and arms; grasping/holding
    • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
    • Depth perception, normal visual acuity, and hand-eye coordination
    • Ability to differentiate between colors
