Overview
We are seeking an experienced Dental Removable Department Manager to lead our removable prosthetics department at our dental laboratory in Edina, Minnesota. This is a full-time, hands-on leadership role for a seasoned removable technician who is ready to guide a skilled team, protect quality, and keep cases moving on schedule. You will be the point of accountability for everything that happens in the department, from case intake through final inspection and shipment.
Responsibilities
Lead daily operations of the removable department, including complete and partial dentures, flexible and cast partials, and implant-retained removable prosthetics.
Supervise, coach, and evaluate department technicians; set clear expectations and give regular, constructive feedback.
Plan and manage case scheduling and workflow so that due dates are met and workloads are balanced across the team.
Oversee quality control by inspecting work at key stages, resolving remakes and adjustments, and ensuring consistent fit, function, and esthetics.
Train new and existing technicians on techniques, materials, and best practices, and build cross-training within the team.
Communicate with customer service, design, and other departments to clarify prescriptions, resolve questions, and support doctors.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and keep equipment and supplies in good order.
Qualifications
Several years of professional experience in removable prosthetics, with strong knowledge of dentures, partials, and implant-retained cases.
Prior experience leading, supervising, or training technicians is strongly preferred.
Excellent attention to detail, with a proven commitment to quality and consistency.
Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
Clear communication and a professional, respectful leadership style.
Certified Dental Technician (CDT) credential or equivalent experience is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $90,000 – $105,000 per year, based on experience and leadership background. Full-time position with a competitive benefits package, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth.
