    Description

    Dental IT and Technology Integrator
Goetze Dental  |  Kansas City, MO

Get Out from Behind the Desk.  Put Your IT Skills into the Field.
Goetze Dental has been part of the Kansas City community since 1884. If you’re a capable IT technician who’s tired of sitting in a server room or chained to a cubicle all day, this is your chance to get out into the field, work hands-on with hardware, and build a long-term career with a company that treats its people right.

We’re hiring a Technology Integrator to join our Kansas City team — our flagship branch and the technical core of our company. We don’t need corporate IT systems administrators managing enterprise datacenters. We need a practical, capable tech who knows how to properly set up, troubleshoot, service, maintain, and repair small domain networks (typically averaging 15 workstations, up to about 40) and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and do the physical field deployment and maintenance work.

We’ll teach you the specialized dental imaging tech. You bring the small-network IT foundation and work ethic.

    About Goetze Dental

Goetze Dental has been family-owned and operated since 1884 — and today, the 4th and 5th generations of that same family are still running the business. We don’t answer to shareholders or worry about quarterly earnings. We make decisions based on what’s right for our customers, our employees, and the long-term health of the company.

We believe strongly in the private dental practice — the kind of dentist who knows their patients by name and takes genuine pride in their care. That’s who we serve, and it shapes everything about how we operate. We’re not a vendor to corporate dental chains — we’re a long-term partner to independent practitioners who share our values.

That same philosophy shows up in how we treat our own people. Many of our employees have been with us for decades. Our Director of Service has been with the company for 25 years, and several members of his team have been here even longer. We’re not a stepping stone — we’re a place where skilled people come to do great work and stay.

To be straightforward with you: the Technology Integrator role is a craft position. There isn’t a long management ladder to climb — but there is the opportunity to become genuinely expert at something specialized and in-demand, be compensated well for that expertise, and work for a company that will still be here — and still value you — ten and twenty years from now.

    What’s Different About This Job

Here’s why our Kansas City team members choose Goetze:

    • Freedom from the desk: Every day is different – you’re out visiting small practices, setting up networks, servicing systems, and maintaining high-tech gear rather than staring at ticket queues in a windowless room.
    • Primarily Monday–Friday — no weekends, no on-call rotations
    • Year-round, indoor work — dental offices, not job sites in the August heat or January cold
    • $20–$35/hour depending on experience
    • Flex scheduling — when a long day happens, we balance your week to keep you at 40 hours
    • All travel expenses covered — hotel, meals, fuel, and a company-provided service van
    • A larger team around you — more experienced colleagues to collaborate with and learn from
    • Advanced technical exposure: Expand your skill set beyond standard IT into high-tech intra-oral scanners and 3D extraoral imaging systems.
    • Full benefits: health, dental, vision, retirement plan, and paid time off
    • A stable, family-owned company with 140 years in business — we’re not going anywhere

    About the Role

As a Technology Integrator based out of our Kansas City branch, you’ll visit dental practices across the KC metro and our broader regional network.
You’ll handle the real-world, on-site IT grunt work: setting up local domain networks, mapping drives, running cabling, configuring routers/switches, and installing PCs. You’ll manage small-scale environments — averaging 15 computers per practice, with our largest sites capping out around 40 workstations.
In addition to initial installations, this position is fully responsible for ongoing on-site service, preventative maintenance, and physical repair of hardware and networking infrastructure. Alongside small business network management, you’ll step into the advanced technology space — leading on-site installations, calibrations, and repairs for specialized 3D extra-oral imaging units and intra-oral digital scanners.

A Realistic Picture of the Schedule

We believe in being upfront. Here’s what the schedule actually looks like for a KC technician:

    • High-mileage field role: Driving 30k-40k miles per year to service practices across all Goetze territories, with Kansas City as your central hub.
    • Expect an overnight stay roughly once per week across our regional coverage area.
    • Multi-day out-of-town trips occur about once per month to assist with larger projects.
    • Fourth quarter is our busiest project season as practices purchase and integrate technology before year-end.
    • Branch support travel is a real part of this role — KC is our largest team and the first called when other branches need help. On average, expect a couple of out-of-town trips per quarter
    • Our business has a natural seasonal rhythm — dental practices tend to purchase and install equipment in the second half of the year, making the fourth quarter our busiest project season. Out-of-town work is more concentrated during that period
    • When travel happens, all expenses are covered — hotel, meals, and fuel
    • Overtime is rare — when long days happen, we work to balance your schedule so your week stays at 40 hours

We think that’s a fair trade for the right person — and we’d rather you know it upfront than be surprised later.

    What You’ll Do

    • Perform on-site installation, repair, and maintenance of dental equipment and technology professionally and courteously
    • Diagnose technology issues and determine the parts and tools needed to complete repairs
    • Train dental office staff on proper equipment use and care
    • Serve as on-site support for our Kansas City-based remote IT technicians when needed
    • Maintain an organized, well-stocked service van
    • Partner with your dispatcher to schedule and route your daily calls efficiently
    • Complete work orders and job documentation accurately and on time
    • Assist other branches with larger installation projects as needed
    • Attend manufacturer and company training to build your dental equipment expertise over time

    Backgrounds We’re Actively Looking For

You don’t need dental experience — we hire from a wide range of mechanical and technical backgrounds. Strong candidates have come from:

    • MSP (Managed Service Provider) field techs, dispatch technicians, or break-fix specialists
    • Junior network technicians or small business IT service consultants
    • Desktop support or field service techs ready to hit the road in a dedicated van
    • Low-voltage cabling/AV installers with strong networking and troubleshooting knowledge

    Requirements

    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (ready for 30k–40k miles/year).
    • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs (handling network racks, imaging units, and equipment boxes).
    • High school diploma or equivalent; IT certifications such as CompTIA Network+, A+, S+, or Microsoft fundamentals are a plus.
    • Proven hands-on experience setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting small Windows bases networks, local active directory, static routing, and Windows desktop OS.
    • Comfort with routine road travel, including ~1 overnight stay per week and multi-day out-of-town trips roughly once per month.
    • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with a desire to master and repair specialized 3D imaging hardware.
    • Excellent communication skills and a professional presentation when working inside active healthcare offices.
