    Short Description:

    FL-DOH-Marion County-Dental Hygienist - Projected end date 05/30/25 - Opportunity to become permanent. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred. Pediatric Experience highly preferred.

    Complete Description:
    WORK ENVORNMENT:
    Marion County Health Department or alternating school site locations.

    DRESS CODE:
    Scrubs

    TRAVEL:
    10% of the time. May be assigned to a school site. Can ride with a state employee in a state vehicle. Normally will be an elementary school. Will be at the school for the entire day, not travel required during business hours.

    TOOLS/EQUIPMENT:
    Dental hygiene tools, Eaglesoft and HMS computer software

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    ** Using dental instruments and hygiene equipment, performing dental prophylaxis and scaling and root planning.

    ** Instruct patients in preventive dental techniques.

    ** Assisting a high number of patients as required.
    ** Ability to work with dentists, assistants, student assistants and volunteers.

    SKILLS/EDUCATION NEEDED:

    **Must have a clear and current Florida Dental Hygiene license
    ** Must have a current/active CPR certificate
    ** Knowledge of dental terminology
    ** Knowledge of dental hygiene principles and practices
    ** Skills using dental instruments and equipment and performing dental prophylaxis and scaling and root planning.
    ** Ability to instruct patients in preventive dental techniques.
    ** Ability to work with dentists, assistants, student assistants and volunteers in a way that promotes teamwork and the betterment of the residents of Marion County

    ** Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred
    ** Pediatric Experience highly preferred
