Description

Cordial Dental, a busy and established dental practice in Norwalk, Connecticut, is seeking a dependable and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team.

We are looking for a hygienist who provides thorough, patient-centered care, communicates effectively, and works well in a busy clinical environment. The ideal candidate will be professional, organized, gentle with patients, and committed to maintaining high standards of periodontal and preventive care.

Full-time or part-time scheduling may be considered based on the needs of the practice and the candidate’s availability.

Job Responsibilities

Review and update patients’ medical and dental histories.
Perform periodontal assessments, including probing, charting, and evaluation of bleeding, recession, mobility, and other clinical findings.
Provide adult and pediatric prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, and other permitted hygiene services.
Take diagnostic-quality digital radiographs as prescribed by the dentist.
Apply fluoride, desensitizing agents, and preventive products as indicated.
Provide individualized oral-hygiene instruction and nutritional counseling.
Educate patients about periodontal disease, caries prevention, recommended treatment, and continuing-care intervals.
Identify and promptly communicate clinical concerns to the treating dentist.
Assist the dentist during periodic and comprehensive examinations.
Maintain complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation.
Follow established infection-control, sterilization, OSHA, HIPAA, and patient-safety protocols.
Maintain instruments, equipment, treatment rooms, and hygiene supplies.
Support efficient patient flow while delivering thorough and compassionate care.
Collaborate respectfully with dentists, assistants, administrative staff, and other members of the dental team.
Participate in patient follow-up, recall, and continuity of care when appropriate.

Qualifications

Current and unrestricted Connecticut dental hygienist license.
Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Connecticut radiography qualifications, as applicable.
Knowledge of periodontal assessment, diagnosis support, treatment protocols, and clinical documentation.
Ability to obtain clear, diagnostic-quality digital radiographs.
Familiarity with HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and Connecticut dental requirements.
Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Professional, dependable, ethical, and team-oriented.
Comfortable treating adults and children from diverse backgrounds.
Able to work efficiently in a busy dental practice without compromising patient care.
Able to complete periodontal charting and clinical notes accurately and promptly.
Eligibility to work in the United States.
Successful completion of license, employment-reference, and background verification.
Previous dental-hygiene experience is preferred; qualified recent graduates may be considered.
