Our client, a dental care company with a longstanding practice in downtown Boston, is hiring a part-time Dental Hygienist to join their clinical team. The practice serves a mix of long-term patients and new referrals, with a focus on preventive care and patient education.

This role involves performing cleanings, taking and reviewing x-rays, and assisting the dentist during exams and procedures. The schedule is flexible, typically two to three days per week, making it a good fit for hygienists balancing multiple commitments or seeking reduced hours.

The practice uses modern digital charting and imaging systems and maintains a small, collaborative office environment. Candidates should be licensed in Massachusetts and comfortable working directly with patients of varying ages and needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dental cleanings and prophylaxis for patients of all ages
  • Take and process digital x-rays following safety protocols
  • Screen patients for signs of oral disease and document findings
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care
  • Assist the dentist during exams, procedures, and treatment planning
  • Maintain accurate and up to date patient records in the practice management system
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain compliance with infection control standards
  • Coordinate with front desk staff on scheduling and treatment follow ups

Requirements

  • Active Massachusetts dental hygienist license
  • Associate degree in dental hygiene from an accredited program
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience preferred
  • Current CPR certification
  • Proficiency with digital x-ray and charting systems
  • Strong communication skills with patients from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work a flexible part-time schedule including some evenings
  • Attention to detail and adherence to sterilization protocols
