SCOPE OF WORK: Provides administrative and operational support for the NHTI Dental Clinic, including clinic office functions, sterilization services, infection control activities, inventory management, and patient support. Ensures efficient clinic operations and compliance with applicable standards while supporting faculty, staff, students, and patients. This position reports to the Dental Department Chair at NHTI, Concord's Community College.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate's degree from a recognized college or technical institute in business administration, dental assisting, secretarial science, medical coding, medical assisting, or a related field, or education equivalency relevant to the program area
Experience: Two (2) years of related experience providing administrative support or technical support in a dental, medical, or similar healthcare environment, including responsibility for providing program information and support to clients, students, patients, or the public.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Competency in insurance billing and coding. Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills. Proficiency with computer applications and dental software systems. Ability to comply with applicable regulatory standards and maintain confidentiality. Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of dental practice and clinic operations. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, technology, and equipment. Knowledge of office recordkeeping, reporting, and records management principles. Knowledge of regulations and standards applicable to Dental Program and Clinic operations. Ability to analyze and resolve problems and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to contribute to the development and implementation of effective operational procedures. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make routine decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures. Ability to gather, organize, and maintain accurate information and records. Ability to communicate program information clearly and effectively to students, patients, clients, and the public. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and function as part of a team environment. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
License/Certification: Current Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential preferred. Infection Control Prevention (ICP) training required for candidates who do not possess a dental credential or certification.
