We are seeking an experienced and driven Dental CAD/CAM Designer Lead for a growing dental laboratory in Massachusetts. This full-time, on-site role pays $77,000–$93,000 per year (depending on experience) and requires designing complex restorations, managing digital workflows, and leading a technical design team.
Job Overview
The Lead Designer oversees the daily digital workflow, mentors junior technicians, and ensures precision design for crown, bridge, and full-arch implant cases. You will work closely with lab management and local clinical partners to optimize production.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and support junior CAD/CAM designers. Manage daily case assignments and production queues.
- Advanced Design: Design crowns, bridges, custom abutments, and complex All-on-X / full-arch restorations.
- Digital Workflow: Integrate intraoral scans, digital prescriptions, and photogrammetry data.
- Quality & Troubleshooting: Perform rigorous quality control checks. Troubleshoot software, scanning, and milling discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on dental CAD/CAM design experience, with prior leadership or mentoring background preferred.
- Software Mastery: Advanced, proven proficiency in 3Shape Dental System and exocad.
- Anatomical Expertise: Strong grasp of dental anatomy, occlusion, and restorative principles.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with milling strategies, 3D printing, and material properties (zirconia, PMMA, titanium).
