    Dental Assistant Paid Training Opportunity:

    HealthFirst Family Care Center, Inc. is offering an exciting opportunity for a full-time, in person, paid Dental Assistant training program which includes both classroom and clinical training through a workforce pipeline fund. Classes are offered virtually through CareerStep and will prepare a learner to earn a Massachusetts Dental Assistant license. Hands-on training days will provide opportunities for observation and preparing for dental procedures, maintaining and updating patient charts, and assisting with dentistry techniques. Interested candidates must be able to commit to 10 weeks of in-person paid course work and a 6-month paid externship completed at HealthFirst. Upon acceptance into the program, students will be required to sign a 2-year work commitment to HealthFirst. Candidates are required to submit a resume that includes a brief statement explaining why they are interested in becoming a Dental Assistant. *Note: Successful completion of the program and externship does not guarantee employment.

    Schedule:

    Mon- Fri 8:00 am- 4:30 pm

    Required Qualifications:

    • Must be 18 years or older
    • High School diploma or equivalent is required
    • Must submit a resume that includes a brief statement explaining why you are interested in becoming a Dental Assistant
    • Provide 3 professional references and possess a clear background free of criminal offenses

    Competencies:

    • The Dental Assistant trainee must have a high level of customer service and a positive approach to working with patients. Projects a positive attitude about the department and the health center and offers services to ensure positive experience
    • Ability to maintain an organized work area and work collaboratively as a member of a team
    • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and time management skills to effectively communicate with patients
    • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner and in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
    • Ability to multi- task
    • Detail-oriented and accurate
    • Able to sit at a computer for an extended period of time
