Dental Assistant

Location: Norfolk, VA | Part- Time

Konikoff Family Dentistry – Granby in Norfolk, VA is looking for a motivated, hardworking Dental Assistant who loves variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing exceptional patient care. Expanded functions experience is a plus, but what matters most is your drive, positive attitude, and commitment to our patients and team.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide expert chairside assistance to our doctors across a wide range of dental procedures

• Prepare operatories and ensure instruments, materials, and equipment are ready before every appointment

• Take and process dental radiographs in compliance with Virginia requirements

• Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment following infection control protocols

• Ensure patient comfort and provide calm, compassionate support throughout treatment

• Take dental impressions and assist with lab tasks as directed

• Provide post-treatment instructions and oral hygiene education

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA

• Work closely with doctors, hygienists, and team members to provide an exceptional patient experience

Administrative Support (as needed)

• Welcome patients and assist with check-in and check-out

• Schedule and confirm appointments using practice management software

• Answer phones and assist with patient inquiries professionally and warmly

• Support supply ordering and additional office tasks as directed

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Previous dental assisting experience preferred

• Current CPR certification preferred

• Expanded functions experience or certification is a plus

• Motivated, hardworking, and comfortable multitasking in a busy environment

• Self-motivated and proactive

• Calm, patient-focused presence that helps patients feel comfortable

• Strong communication skills with patients of all ages and backgrounds

• Experience with dental practice management software and digital radiography preferred

• Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
