Description

The Community Health Center of Niagara in Niagara Falls, NY, is looking for a Dental Assistant to deliver high-quality care to patients in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines. The Dental Assistant will collaborate closely with the dentist, engage in four-handed dentistry tasks, handle patient seating and dismissals, sterilize instruments, take x-rays, manage inventory, perform basic equipment maintenance, and fulfill various clerical responsibilities. A key aspect of this role is maintaining a professional and supportive demeanor with patients while participating in staff meetings.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience working in a dental office
  • Certification as a registered dental assistant in New York State is preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Aid the dentist during procedures utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques
  • Seat and dismiss patients, uphold cleanliness in the operatory and dental laboratory
  • Clean and sterilize dental instruments, process radiographs
  • Oversee dental supplies inventory, carry out laboratory duties, and perform clerical tasks
  • Use computerized systems for patient registration and other clerical processes
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance tasks, including changing suction machine filters

Salary Range:

  • Registered Dental Assistant: $18.78 - $22.46 per hour
  • Dental Assistant without certification: $17.78 - $21.46 per hour
