Job Summary:

Work Schedule: M–F
Pay rate: 1,880

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist Dental Officer in dental specialty sections: restorative, oral surgery, periodontics, prosthetics, and examinations.
  • Retrieve patient's records and escorts patients to proper dental specialty section; seats and prepare patients for attending Dental Officer.
  • Assists Dental Officer by preparing dental instruments, essential materials, drugs, and medications.
  • Pass instruments, retract tissues, irrigate oral cavities, and operate aspirator.
  • Observe patient's responses and assist patient for dismissal from the Dental Clinic.
  • Give instructions for subsequent dental appointments.
  • Makes necessary entries on dental treatment records (both electronic and paper records).
  • Prepares dental treatment room for the next patient.
  • Assist in the treatment of emergency cases.
  • Provide dental health education.
  • Dental prophylaxis.
  • Dental screening examination.
  • Preparation of patients for periodontal surgery.
  • Dental and periodontal charting.
  • Prepare places and removes packs.
  • Place temporary fillings.
  • Place and remove rubber dams.
  • Maintain dental equipment.
  • Clean, sharpen, and sterilize instruments.

  • The Dental Assistant shall possess a minimum of one (1) year of relevant clinical experience in a medical setting. The individual must maintain current Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • The Dental Assistant is required to hold all applicable and current professional licenses, certifications, and credentials in accordance with state and federal regulations. Documentation of licensure, certifications and any specialized training must be provided upon request and maintained throughout the duration of the BPA.
  • The contractor shall ensure that all personnel meet these requirements prior to assignment and remain in compliance with the entirety of the performance periods.
