We are looking for a skilled, dependable
Dental Assistant II (DA II) with a
minimum of 2 years of chairside experience to join our clinical team. If you take pride in seamless four-handed dentistry, stay ahead of the schedule, and want a long-term dental home where your expertise and well-being are truly valued, we would love to meet you.
Schedule & Work-Life Balance
- Monday – Thursday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Fridays: Up to two Fridays per month as needed (7:30 AM – 1:30 PM)
- Weekends: None
Key Responsibilities
- Chairside Assisting: Perform efficient four-handed dentistry across comprehensive restorative, cosmetic (including Bioclear), crown and bridge, implant, and surgical procedures.
- Expanded DA II Functions: Perform all delegable North Carolina DA II duties, including coronal polishing, placing matrix bands and wedges, taking diagnostic impressions/digital scans, fabricating and cementing temporary crowns, and monitoring nitrous oxide.
- Digital Workflow & Charting: Capture high-quality digital radiographs and intraoral photos; accurately update clinical notes, treatment plans, and patient records in OpenDental.
- Patient Experience: Welcome patients warmly, review medical histories and vitals, explain procedures and post-op instructions clearly, and ensure patient comfort from seating to dismissal.
- Infection Control & Operatory Management: Maintain strict OSHA, CDC, and NC State Board sterilization protocols; turn over operatories efficiently and help manage clinical supply inventory and lab cases.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on chairside dental assisting experience (required).
- North Carolina DA II Qualification: Must meet NC State Board of Dental Examiners requirements for DA II classification (completion of a CODA-accredited dental assisting program, DANB CDA certification, or 3,000+ documented chairside hours with required NC Board coursework in sterilization, dental office emergencies, and radiology).
- Certifications:
- North Carolina Dental Radiography certification
- Current CPR / BLS certification
- NC Coronal Polishing certification (preferred/required per credential pathway)
- NC Nitrous Oxide Monitoring certification (preferred)
- Software Proficiency: Experience with OpenDental and digital imaging systems is a strong plus (proficiency with modern dental software required).
