Denial Specialist II
Contract Type / Duration: Contract | 12 Months
Location: Fully Remote – U.S.
Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM–10:00 PM EST, with rotating holidays
Target Start Date: September 14, 2026
Pay Rate: $23/hour W-2
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Denial Specialist II to support healthcare denial and approval correspondence. This position is responsible for generating, processing, and maintaining provider and member correspondence based on medical review documentation.
The ideal candidate has experience with healthcare denials, claims, appeals, or medical correspondence and is comfortable working independently in a remote, productivity-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Generate denial and approval correspondence based on Medical Director review documentation
Review pending denial letters, escalations, and deadlines
Process correspondence accurately and within required turnaround times
Review internal communications and updates that may impact denial processing
Maintain accurate documentation and records
Work independently while meeting established productivity and quality expectations

Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
1+ year of experience working with healthcare denial management systems, claims, correspondence platforms, or appeals tracking
Knowledge of medical terminology
Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, and OneNote
Productivity & Testing Requirements
Once fully trained, expected productivity is approximately:
4 denial letters per hour and/or
6–7 approval letters per hour
Typing speed of at least 60 WPM with 95% accuracy
Computer literacy assessment required
Schedule Requirements
Candidates must be able to work:
Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM–10:00 PM EST
The position also requires availability for rotating holidays.
Employment Requirements
W-2 employment only
No Corp-to-Corp (C2C) arrangements
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
