Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Demand Planner to support demand forecasting, inventory planning, and supply chain optimization efforts across a growing organization. This opportunity is ideal for an analytical and detail-oriented professional who enjoys leveraging data to drive business decisions and improve operational efficiency. The Demand Planner will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop accurate forecasts, support inventory strategies, and contribute to overall supply chain performance.
What You'll Do
- Develop, manage, and adjust demand forecasts using historical sales data, market trends, seasonality, and business intelligence.
- Utilize statistical models and analytical tools to project future demand and identify forecast variances.
- Partner with sales and marketing teams to incorporate promotional activities, marketing campaigns, and new product introductions into demand planning activities.
- Monitor market trends, customer purchasing patterns, and industry developments to identify risks and growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to minimize stock shortages and excess inventory.
- Ensure visibility into promotions, expansion initiatives, and product launch timelines that may impact inventory requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and turnover to maintain alignment between available inventory and forecasted demand.
- Track and analyze key forecasting metrics, including forecast accuracy, bias, inventory performance, and demand trends.
- Develop reports and dashboards to communicate forecasting insights, inventory performance, and operational risks.
- Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes by presenting demand forecasts, identifying opportunities, and aligning supply with demand requirements.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure forecasting assumptions and inventory strategies support business objectives.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities related to forecasting, reporting, and inventory planning processes.
- Use business intelligence and ERP systems to support data-driven decision-making and operational improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in demand planning, forecasting, supply chain analysis, purchasing, inventory planning, or related disciplines.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Experience with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar platforms is a plus.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
