    JOB DESCRIPTION


    The company is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Demand Planner to lead and manage the company-wide forecasting process. This is a critical new role focused on driving continuous improvement within the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. The Demand Planner will be an individual contributor, reporting directly to Greg. This role offers the unique opportunity to develop processes and implement new ERP/forecasting software.



    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


    The Demand Planner will be responsible for:

    • Lead and manage the company-wide forecasting process to ensure the most accurate demand projections possible.
    • Coordinate regular forecast alignment meetings with sales teams and executive leadership, ensuring consensus and full synchronization with customer demand.
    • Develop, review, and maintain demand forecasts for assigned products and product families, incorporating input from sales, customers, and product management.
    • Ensure forecasts reflect upcoming product changes, including obsolete materials, new product introductions, and shifts in distribution or manufacturing locations.
    • Identify and address issues such as changes in customer demand, service-level impacts, and seasonal variability.
    • Conduct frequent "what-if" scenario analyses to support proactive decision-making.
    • Track and report forecast accuracy to drive continuous improvement within the S&OP process.

    • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure alignment with forecast requirements.
    • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support business objectives.



    REQUIREMENTS


    Must-Haves


    • Experience/Education: College degree and 3 years of experience in scheduling, inventory control, production, and/or manufacturing OR 7 years of experience within these industries.


    Skills:

    • Strong math, data analytics, and organizational skills.
    • Prior experience leading, delegating, and/or collaborating across teams effectively.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
    • Proficient in Excel, ERP systems, and forecasting tools.
    • Firm grasp on supply chain and demand management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to manage the forecast based on various models and calculations.
    • Understanding of customer demand and how to alter products so that demand is met with the least impact to other customers and/or stock build.
    • Must work efficiently under pressure to create an environment promoting teamwork and accountability.
    • Adaptability and attention to detail.


    Nice-to-Haves


    • Experience within the metal roofing industry.
    • SAP or Oracle experience.
    • Experience with forecasting demand.
    • APICS Certification.
    • S&OP/SIOP involvement in previous roles.

     


    EDUCATION


    • College degree in Supply Chain or a related field is a nice to have.
    • Certifications such as an APICS Certification or other relevant certifications are a plus.



    COMPENSATION PACKAGE


    • Base Salary: Up to $100,000.
    • Bonuses/Commission: To be determined.



    WORKING CONDITIONS


    • Location: Fully onsite in Irving, TX.
    • Schedule: Standard day shift.
    • Travel: 10% travel
    • Other Conditions: This is a new, developing role that requires a high level of adaptability and comfort with an evolving process. It is not a highly structured position.
