Project Background:
The Millennium Challenge Account-Indonesia II (MCA Indonesia II), acting on behalf of the Government of Indonesia with support from the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), is implementing the MSME Finance Project under the Indonesia Infrastructure and Finance Compact. The project aims to address structural constraints that limit MSME access to finance by establishing an integrated ecosystem that links MSME capacity building, financial sector strengthening, and market creation. The project will be implemented through a dedicated MSME Service Provider (MSP) responsible for coordinating MSME development, strengthening Financial Service Providers (FSPs), and structuring strategic partnerships to unlock new markets using a results based implementation approach.
Please note this is a bid opportunity and there will not be a role unless the tender is awarded. Estimated award date is the end of 2026 with start-up activities following immediately after award in early 2027.
Position Summary:
The Demand Generation Lead will oversee the design and implementation of the project's transaction advisory function to mobilize capital into MSMEs. The role will focus on building and managing a network of transaction advisors, supporting MSME investment readiness, facilitating deal structuring and execution, and implementing results-based incentive mechanisms. Fluency in English required; Bahasa Indonesia preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of the business advisory model and platform
Build, manage, and oversee a network of business advisors and intermediaries
Oversee MSME screening, investment readiness, and preparation of business plans and financial models
Develop a pipeline of investment-ready MSMEs across priority sectors
Support deal structuring and facilitate transactions between MSMEs and investors or financial institutions
Engage investors and support matchmaking between capital providers and MSMEs
Design and manage results-based incentives tied to capital mobilization and deal closure
Strengthen the capacity of business advisors, accelerators, incubators, and other ecosystem actors
Coordinate closely with financial sector, MSME development, and partnership teams
Track performance, including pipeline development, deal conversion, and capital mobilization
Represent business advisory components in stakeholder meetings
Qualifications and Experience:
Advanced degree in finance, economics, business, or related field
10-12 years of experience in business advisory, incubation, acceleration, strategy consulting, investment banking, or MSME finance
Demonstrated experience originating and closing transactions in emerging markets
Experience working with financial institutions, investors, and MSMEs, particularly in the agricultural sector
Experience with blended finance and results-based financing approaches preferred
Strong financial modelling, deal structuring, and analytical skills
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Experience working in Indonesia or Southeast Asia required
Fluency in English required; Bahasa Indonesia preferred
