    Description

    The Deltek Solutions Architect serves as the functional expert for Costpoint and other Deltek products, bridging Finance and FP&A strategies, operational needs, and system execution. Translates business concepts, process improvements, and organizational requirements into scalable Deltek solutions that support the contract lifecycle and broader Finance strategy.

    Partners with the IT Financial Systems Administrator, will lead requirements-gathering, assess business needs, recommend functional solutions, and ensure Deltek configurations align with Finance processes, data integrity standards, security requirements, and long-term organizational goals. Brings both deep Deltek expertise and strong financial functional knowledge, with the ability to understand how finance should operate and apply that thinking effectively within the system.

    This role is equal parts strategic and hands-on. It requires someone who can think beyond transactions, anticipate downstream impacts, improve the user experience, support reporting and analytics, and act as the go-to Deltek resource for the finance team.

    ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

    Must be able to pass a background check

    Strong knowledge of Deltek business processes, configuration concepts, security, reporting, and overall system functionality.

                              

    Demonstrated experience gathering requirements, translating business needs into system solutions, and partnering with technical teams to deliver enhancements.

    Experience supporting financial systems within an internal Finance function, with strong understanding of core Finance operations and processes.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

    Functional Costpoint Expert

    Serves as the primary functional Deltek expert for Finance and FP&A, with deep knowledge of how to apply finance processes and concepts effectively within the system.

    Recommends best practice solutions and processes; guides organizational stakeholders toward efficient use of Deltek core (out of the box) functionality minimizing or eliminating need for customizations.

    Manages upgrades, implementations, and minor and major enhancements for Deltek solutions including project management, communication, change management and training.

    Gathers and translates business requirements into effective systems configurations, enhancements, workflows and design solutions.    

    Ensures configurations comply with company policies and processes, GAAP, FAR and CAS.

    Provides documentation, communication and training on Costpoint modules.

    Team Liaison

    Acts as a liaison between Finance and FP&A stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and implementation partners to ensure solutions are understood and executed effectively.

    Coordinates with stakeholders and Costpoint System Administrator to deploy updates (including testing phase), troubleshoots issues, and monitors performance including evaluation of all changes for system impact, downstream implications, scalability, sustainability and alignment to organizational strategy. 

    Information Reporting & Data Management

    Works with Finance and FP&A teams to develop and manage data queries, integration with other systems, dashboards, reports and analytics.

    Assists with audits by preparing data extracts, documentation and explanation of Costpoint controls including security roles.

    Contributes to broader Finance and FP&A transformation initiatives, helping ensure technology supports both current business needs and future growth.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, CAS and government project accounting.

    Deltek Costpoint Master Certification preferred, with five or more (5+) years of demonstrated experience leveraging Deltek in a functional, business-facing capacity (not solely technical configuration).

    Experience with project setup, revenue, billing, cost pools, indirect rates and project management concepts required.   Experience with reporting tools (COGNOS, BI tools, dashboards, etc.) preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.

    The estimated pay range for this role is $97,200 to $130,000, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
