Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced QA/QE Engineer to support quality assurance and testing activities across two application teams. This role requires close coordination with multiple internal teams including Claims, Enrollment, Contact Center, and Platform Engineering. Key Requirements include: Prior experience working at Delta Dental of California or a Dental affiliate (strongly preferred) Strong understanding of claims processing, eligibility, enrollment, and benefits module Familiarity with Delta workflows including PCP management and contact tracking Experience testing enterprise web-based applications and REST APIs Healthcare industry background is a strong plus Position Summary Delta Dental of California is seeking an experienced QA/QE Engineer to support quality assurance and quality engineering activities across two application teams. This role requires a strong understanding of dental/health insurance business processes and the ability to collaborate closely with multiple cross-functional teams across the organization. The ideal candidate brings prior experience working within Delta Dental environments and a solid foundation in claims, eligibility, benefits, and contact center operations. Key Responsibilities QA/QE Activities Dual Team Coverage - Execute and coordinate QA/QE activities across two application teams simultaneously
- Design, develop, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing
- Perform manual and automated testing for web-based and desktop applications (Oracle ADF/WebLogic environments)
- Validate business logic related to claims processing, enrollment, eligibility, and benefits administration
- Support defect lifecycle management: identification, documentation, triage, and resolution tracking
- Participate in sprint ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives across both teams
Cross-Team Coordination - Coordinate QA/QE efforts with multiple internal teams including Claims, Enrollment, Contact Center, and Platform Engineering
- Collaborate with integration partners and system owners for downstream/upstream dependency testing ( MetaVance, Genesys, Formworks, Citrix, Infra)
- Partner with business analysts, developers, and product owners to ensure requirements traceability through testing
- Communicate test status, blockers, and quality metrics to stakeholders across teams
- Support UAT coordination and facilitate testing sign-off with business users
EBD System Testing - Conduct thorough testing of EBD Oracle ADF 12c on WebLogic the primary customer service desktop application
- Validate EBD workflows related to customer service, member lookup, benefits inquiry, and contact tracking
- Ensure regression coverage is maintained as part of ongoing system stabilization efforts
- Support PCP (Primary Care Provider) assignment and tracking validation workflows
Automation & Observability - Contribute to API and web UI automation test coverage using established frameworks
- Support Datadog synthetic monitoring setup and maintenance for critical application flows
- Participate in daily environment validation across DEV, DITX, UAT, and MOT environments
Work Environment & Expectations - On-site presence required at Delta Dental's Oakland, CA office
- Collaborative team environment supporting two development teams with shared cross-team dependencies
- Daily coordination with offshore team members supporting environment validation and automation
- Participation in weekly demos, team standups, and stakeholder reviews
