JOB DESCRIPTION
The Delivery - Sr. Consultant is responsible for leading customized and comprehensive engagements to ensure project profitability, success, and client satisfaction. These activities include supervisory and management responsibilities for project resources, and this role is responsible for global delivery oversight, project reporting, communications, deliverable coordination, problem resolution, issues management, team onboarding and off-boarding, knowledge capture, document management, etc.
Reporting to a Delivery - Practice Director, Delivery - Sr. Lead Consultant or Delivery - Lead Consultant, this position is highly collaborative, as Everforth Apex engagements require participation and collaboration from a variety of different roles within Everforth Apex and the client, and the Engagement Manager must be able to successfully navigate these relational and operational complexities in a multi-national environment. The Delivery - Sr. Consultant role involves client relationship building, executive level communications, presentations, driving engagement success and supervising project teams. This role may also manage internal Apex employees within the Delivery Practice.
Project Delivery & Oversight
- Lead the client and Everforth Apex through the Project Kick-off (Launch) process and EDRM review. Ensure quality and accuracy of project workflows and operating procedures related to all aspects of the project. Coordinate global delivery efforts to ensure team members take ownership of the relevant tasks and expectations.
- Manage the day-to-day project delivery and team resources from origination to completion including partner resources and multi-national team members. Accountable for staffing planning, selection, hiring, project onboarding, performance management, general employee relations, corrective action, and offboarding in close cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage client expectations and related client communications, usually in conjunction with internal client leadership team.
- Provide detailed tracking of Tasks and Deliverables associated with assigned projects, and leverage ServiceNow to record key project data and other systems of record to ensure high quality data and stakeholder alignment.
- Complete and submit high-quality project deliverables and milestones according to strict deadlines and obtain client acceptance.
- Provide status reports of work on active projects. Manage scope and financials for project(s) as well as keeping the project on track for time, budget, and deliverables.
- Assess, analyze, and resolve complex project issues, problems and/or challenges.
- Schedule and facilitate Internal Business Reviews and internal cadences with stakeholders and collaborate effectively to manage quality of delivery.
- Establish and lead project cadences with the client including reviews of project status, deliverables, overall project heath, issues, and risks, etc. Schedule and facilitate client business reviews, internal and external retrospectives and other closing items, tasks, or objectives at project end.
- Develop and sustain trusted advisor relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Project Financial Management
In collaboration with Project Control, the Delivery - Sr. Consultant is responsible to:
- Monitor financial health of the project to ensure that the approved financial targets are achieved.
- Monitor and update pricing sheets as necessary through collaboration with Project Accounting.
- Oversee time charges, expenses, and billings on assigned projects; time and expense reporting and tracking against budgets.
- Monitor AR Aging report and resolve or escalate issues as needed.
- Ensure project expenses are submitted timely and correctly as needed.
- Communicate Work-At-Risk requests and updates.
- Responsible (either directly or indirectly) for VMS management (milestones, invoicing, financial reconciliation, managing client system hours and monitoring the EPC to ensure budget and contract limits are up to date).
- Verify with internal billing team that all invoices have been submitted and paid upon project closing.
- Develop and prepare a variety of reports related to the project delivery, project status, budget, forecast, contract employees, metrics and KPIs, etc.
Project Risk Management
- Monitor Contract Compliance.
- Manage change orders as needed including the CLM process and proactive and collaborative communication regarding status and execution.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of engagement work papers.
- Own and maintain project risk registers, ensuring timely identification, documentation, and escalation of risks across all phases of delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective risk mitigation and contingency plans.
- Monitor and report on risk status and trends, providing regular updates to stakeholders and Everforth Apex leadership.
- Facilitate risk review sessions and ensure alignment with organizational risk management frameworks and compliance standards.
Sales & Project Management Practice Support
- May provide sales and proposal support as needed including providing role definitions, guidance on team structure, milestone and deliverable definitions, scoping, estimates, and work approach.
- This position may directly or indirectly manage one or more Delivery - Analysts and other internal resources, including hiring, training, supporting, developing, retaining and driving performance.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to direct reports, supporting their professional growth in technical, solution, and framework expertise. Leverage internal and external resources to enhance skill and competence.
- With a "Plus One" mindset, contributes to the development and continuous improvement of the Apex Engagement Delivery Practice through various activities and initiatives such as: People initiatives, Training and Development, Knowledge Management, Artifact creation, Marketing, Sales, Recruiting, Solution Development, Quality Assurance, Risk Analysis and Review, etc.
- Responsible for completing objectives as set by management in key focus areas for team and organizational growth and improvement.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in with concentration in Business, Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education, skills and experience; MBA preferred.
- 3 years of project or engagement management experience in Consulting or Professional Services (or similar); technology consulting experience preferred. Program and portfolio management experience preferred.
- Solid engagement management experience with technology deployment exposure; experience supporting data center or similar large-scale field deployment environments preferred.
- Demonstrated experience successfully managing large teams and complex projects in a global delivery, multi-national environment.
- Experience as a direct supervisor or manager
- Proven experience leveraging AI to recognize operational efficiencies, process improvements, reduced costs and/or improved delivery quality and customer satisfaction.
- Understanding and knowledge of Project Management principles, methodologies, and alternative delivery approaches, such as Agile. Program and Portfolio management experience preferred.
- Experience with project/program and portfolio management, tracking, and collaboration tools such as: Service Now, Workday, Clarity, HP PPM, PlanView, SharePoint, MS Project, Jira, ADO, Mural, etc.
- Thorough understanding of professional services contracts including time and materials, fixed fee, etc.
- Proven experience demonstrating complete accountability, ownership and urgency in achieving individual project, team, and organizational success.
- Great customer relationship management focus.
- Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills
- Experience with resource planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Experience managing, setting priorities, solving complex problems, and selling in a consultative role.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and influence team members and stakeholders in a complex multi-national organization.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment and proven experience as a high performer in dynamic, fast-changing environments that require continuous adaptability, agility and change readiness.
- Track record of implementing process improvement.
- Knowledge of time and materials and fixed price contracts.
- Exceptional attention to detail and stellar organization and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint advanced features.
- Results oriented with a high sense of urgency to meet client requirements.
- This position will require travel to client, project, or internal stakeholder locations.
