Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Printing Services is looking for a delivery driver/production support person to manage campus deliveries and pick-ups using state vehicle. Most destinations are on campus and near-campus. Occasionally, requires travel to other locations in South Carolina. This customer facing role requires a positive attitude and professional problem resolution skills. The employee will also work in the print production center performing assigned tasks. Training will be provided, if necessary.

Duties include but are not limited to: work with supervisor to coordinate deliveries and pick-ups on campus, near-campus, and across South Carolina to meet due dates; safely operate vehicle, with extra care provided for pedestrian traffic; positive attitude and problem-solving abilities are required; support receiving of products by handling with care to place items in the proper location(s); provide accurate physical inventory counts, as instructed; able to record receiving amounts and physical counts in a computer software system; support the print production bindery area, as requested; learn how to safely operate and maintain equipment. Improve and expand your skillsets in the overall print production area.

Qualifications

High school diploma with three (3) years of experience in printing production. Demonstrates a mechanical aptitude that can troubleshoot routine equipment problems and make necessary repairs. Able to think analytically and creatively to consider alternatives to resolve problems.A ten-year driving record is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Able to drive a van delivery vehicle. Able to read and interpret maps to efficiently accomplish all deliveries. Communicate verbally and in writing. Use computers/calculators to enter data and verify results. Cope with numerous interruptions and still meet required task completion times. Confidentiality and good reasoning skills are required. Able to independently lift/move packages weighing up to 50 lbs. Punctuality and good attendance are essential.
