Delivery Driver / Package Handler
Pay: $21–$23 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Varying start times, primarily daytime hours
Hours: 8–10 hours per day, up to 6 days per week during peak season
Assignment Length: Through approximately mid-January
Job Description
We are seeking reliable, motivated Delivery Drivers to assist with package delivery operations. This position involves delivering packages to residential and commercial customers while assisting with loading, unloading, and handling packages. Candidates must be dependable, safety-conscious, physically capable, and committed to providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload packages from delivery vehicles.
- Deliver packages safely and promptly to residential and commercial addresses.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery progress, traffic, and potential delays.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, mileage, and time logs.
- Follow traffic laws and company safety procedures.
- Inspect packages and delivery vehicles before and after routes.
- Secure packages properly to prevent damage during transportation.
- Report vehicle issues, unsafe conditions, and delivery concerns to management.
- Assist team members with package handling and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Must have a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
- Must have a current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate or be able to pass a DOT physical.
- Must be able to routinely lift packages weighing 70+ lbs.
- Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to manage time effectively.
- Must demonstrate safe driving practices and professional customer service.
- Must be flexible with scheduling, including extended hours and up to 6 days per week during peak season.
- Previous package delivery experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements: The ability to lift up to 70 lbs may be required; Packages weighing over 70 lbs require a team lift or the use of a dolly.
