POSITION SUMMARY: To help Wheatsville be the Friendliest Store in Town through excellent, friendly and upbeat customer service. Prepare and serve a variety of food products, maintain a clean and organize deli counter area and complete all shift duties.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and serve menu items according to portion guidelines
- Work efficiently to handle heavy rushes
- Ensure that all product is in sellable condition and meets quality standards
- Ensure that all deli cases are stocked and merchandised nicely (bakery, full serve, self-serve)
- Maintain deli and food storage areas in sanitary, orderly condition, meeting Health Department standards
- Comply with Health Department Regulations including head covering, proper dress, drinks and hand washing
- Participate in quarterly inventory
- Assist in maintaining customer areas
- Other tasks as assigned by management
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as department manual
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task
- Balance friendliness with efficiency, and maintain focus
- Great communication skills and receptive to feedback
- Food Handler's Certification required
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Previous food service experience
- Experience or interest in natural foods and cooperatives
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Required frequently: standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs. and environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezers etc.)
