Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse licensure (in the state of residency) required
- 1-2 years experience, geriatric/long term care experience preferred
- Active CPR certification
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Develops and maintains nursing policies, procedures, objectives and practice standards.
- Plans, directs and provides resident care according to physician orders, the resident service care plan and agreement.
- Communicates changes in resident’s condition in a timely fashion to include but not limited to physician, other disciplines, the following shift, and family members.
- Completes resident assessment in accordance with Presbyterian Senior Living and state requirements. Develops and updates service care plans.
- Makes daily resident rounds per assignment to determine current resident status and environment.
- Assures weekly lab work is completed, with results forwarded to the resident’s physician.
- Assists with the supervision of nursing personnel, as assigned.
- Makes recommendations regarding the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, supervision and implementation corrective action for nursing personnel under their supervision.
- Responsible for the completion of all required record keeping related to these processes.
- Assists Manager/ Administrator or Resident Care Manager by participating and contributing to regular staff meetings with all shifts for purposes of planning, coordinating resident services and implementing policies and procedures.
- Teach the Medication Administration Course and the Review Course to unlicensed personnel.
- Leads or actively participates in all required in-service programs and staff meetings, including program presentation.
- Actively participates in the facility Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Program.
- May act in the absence of the Assisted Living Manager/Administrator.
