  • Provide students who are deaf or hard of hearing with appropriate learning experiences designed to fulfill their potential for language, intellectual, emotional, physical, academic, and social growth.
  • Develop lesson plans and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students/families assigned, incorporating needed modifications based on abilities, IEP/ISP/IFSP goals and learning styles.
  • Work cooperatively with district staff/Shared Service Agreement District members/ECI providers and families to develop Individual Education Plans (IEP), Individual Service Plans (ISP), Individual Family Service Plans(IFSP).
  • Document students progress and services using district/program protocols.
  • Work cooperatively with all stakeholders to promote positive student outcomes
  • Provide training to stakeholders on the impact of hearing loss, hearing assistive technology, communication modes, early intervention, language development, auditory development, instructional strategies specific to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
  • Comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate.
  • Compile, update, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other required documents for the district and ECI agencies
  • Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned

  • Valid Texas Teacher Certification in Hearing Impairment EC-12

  • Sign language skills
