    The Crisis Service and Diagnostic Center is a program designed to offer individual tailored assistance and brief (up to 90-day) stabilization for a maximum of sixteen (16) adults aged 18 and above, who have intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or concurrent IDD/BH diagnoses. These individuals are facing psychiatric challenges and/or significant emotional/behavioral changes that are impacting on their essential functions, potentially jeopardizing their ability to stay in their usual home environment. 

    Position Overview:
    We are seeking a De-Escalation Worker which can use communication or other techniques during an encounter to stabilize, slow, or reduce the intensity of a potentially violent situation without using physical force, or with a reduction in force. 

    Location/Schedule: 750 Hazel Street, Macon, GA – 36 hours 3–12-hour Sunday-Saturday 7pm7am and Every Other Weekend.  
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Assist individuals in crisis with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility. 
    • Implement interventions developed by behavior analysts in behavior support plan to prevent challenging behaviors and ensure the safety of individuals in crisis. 
    • Implement de-escalation strategies to reduce and prevent harmful behaviors during crisis situations. 

    Qualifications:
    • Requires High School Diploma.  
    • At least 2 years working in behavioral health, with individuals intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), or related field.
    • Must have good computer skills.
